Demolition Disaster: East Hills High Rise Implosion Failure

This video shows an attempt to implode the East Hills High Rise in Pittsburgh, PA in December 16th, 2006.  The first half of the structure seems to fall flawlessly up to the elevator shaft which dangerously holds up the rest of the structure.  Demolition crews, now forced to figure out a plan B must now brave the dangerously hanging structure to finish the job.  Demolition analysis of the implosion sequence could have easily shown the flawed plan and prevented un-necessarily putting lives at risk re-entering the building.
