Demolition Disasters:
The reality of matter is that the demolition of structures can be dangerous if certain precautions are not taken. In particular there are an increasing number of unknowns when demolishing a building either because of the complexities of today’s structures which have been built using new methods and materials or because of retrofits and modifications to older structures.
If you were to search the internet for failed implosion, you can find countless articles, images and videos of demolitions that didn't go as planned. This is an all too frightening predicament for demolition workers who are the ones who must bravely re-enter these structures to finish the job. In addition to the inherent danger to employees and surrounding structures, failed demolitions can be costly to surrounding infrastructure such as power lines, power stations, underground structures, and neighboring structures.
